The cultural importance and historic beauty of the Dillingham Transportation Building ignited the design for this 620,000-square-foot downtown office building. Economics dictated tearing down a portion of the historic building, but AHL devised a plan to join old and new that preserved the stately cultural landmark and created an open green space for pedestrians. Energy-efficient reflective glass serves to double the green space and simulates a “see through” perspective with the ever-changing scene of clouds and view planes.
