Hurricane proof but with comfortable human scale, this facility houses three distinct government functions and communications equipment that are vital for an emergency command center. Each function – police, emergency operations center, and office of the prosecuting attorney – has its own identity, entry, operational controls, etc. Operational, imaginative and strong through the use of raised floors and roof wells, the facility incorporates visual features indigenous to Kaua‘i, the “Garden Isle.”
