Keone‘ula Elementary school was designed to be a fun, educational “community” that inspires students to want to learn and maximize their full potential — following the Steering Committee’s vision: “Keone‘ula Elementary ... where every child loves to learn.”

The library’s entry wall is a symbolic pencil. Sidewalks are stamped and color stained with hopscotch and other games. Classrooms are designed for flexibility and teaming concepts, vertical clustering and grade levels. They can be “opened” for collaboration among classes. The campus “heart” is the up-to-date library that reaches youngsters with reading nooks, computer resources and a video production center.

Fun, educational, inspirational, community building – these directives lie behind the design of this elementary school.
