AHL’s office in downtown Honolulu is seeking a Job Captain to join our highly creative and collaborative team. The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for planning and coordination of development of construction drawings under project administrator or project architect. Candidates should be proficient in preparing details for complex projects in multiple markets.

Salary Range $75,000 to $90,000

AHL offers a hybrid office/remote 3/2 schedule and a 4-1/2 day work week.

education
  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferred. Minimum of seven years related experience.
  • LEED Accreditation preferred.
knowledge/skills
  • Thorough knowledge of architectural drafting, detailing, building materials, codes, construction methods, office procedures, policies and standards.
  • ‍General knowledge of architectural practice, law and ethics.
  • Substantial knowledge of procedures for production of construction and design development documents.
  • ‍Thorough knowledge of architectural planning, detailing, drafting, construction materials and methods.
  • Working knowledge of related engineering principles and building codes.
  • Proficiency in CAD.
  • Revit and/or 3-D software program experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
typical duties
  • Plans, assigns, directs, coordinates and supervises the work of a group of technical designers.
  • Designs and develops technical design concepts, plans, elevations, sections and details.
  • Coordination and liaison with consultants and their staffs.
  • Coordinates program requirements, drawings and specifications.
  • Checks documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with code, client and construction requirements.
  • May be called upon to manage less complex projects.
  • Check shop drawings and material submittals and provide drawing interpretations during construction.
